Teenagers

Adolescence is a time of transformation and change.  All teenagers and young adults go through physical and emotional changes. At the same time, they’re also dealing with moving schools, making new friends, coping with social and friendship challenges, facing exams and starting university or work.

This can ask a lot from your teenager.  Sometimes that may need a bit of extra help and support to develop the skills they need to thrive in life.

If your teenager is struggling with confidence, anxiety or low mood or finding a way through changes at home or school, having the right support in place can make a big difference.

I help teenagers and young adults to manage the worries, challenges and anxieties they face at school, in social situations and in the wider world.

Our sessions focus on developing the skills they need to become happy, resilient and confident young people who have the tools at their fingertips to fulfill their potential.

I work in partnership with your teenager or young adult so they understand what’s causing them to struggle.  Side by side, we explore new ways of managing and overcoming the things that are holding them back.

I work with your teenager to develop a range of flexible tools and techniques they can use in any situation.  Many teenagers and young people discover that progress in one area has a practical impact on other areas of their life too.

I can help your teenager or young adult with

  • anxiety and worry
  • confidence and self esteem
  • social confidence and managing social situations
  • school problems
  • exam pressure
  • transitions and life changes
  • friendship issues and bullying
  • anger and frustration
  • sleep problems
  • habits such as skin picking or hair pulling
  • concentration and focus
  • body image

Each session is personal and practical.  I develop each session around your teenager or young adult. We work together to help them to become calmer and more in control.  Each session focuses on building the skills they need to handle life’s challenges.

Teenagers and young adults I’ve worked with talk about how they can now
  • better understand themselves and their emotions
  • change how they respond to situations or life events
  • manage change and transitions
  • respond in more constructive ways
  • manage difficult thoughts, feelings and situations
  • cope better
  • feel confident in social situations
  • solve their problems without being overwhelmed
  • feel more confident inside
  • able to face new situations calmly and with confidence
  • enjoy their lives more
  • feel they are now on the right track

Whatever the issue, please feel free to reach out to me. We can explore together how to help your teenager or young adult fulfill their potential.

My clients say:

“I have been seeing Celia for several months and through the work we’ve done together I’ve seen such a significant improvement in my mental health, particularly depression and self esteem issues. The sessions are always very focused on your experience and what you want to get out of it, and this personalised, feedback-based approach has been really helpful in making sure I get the most out of sessions. I now feel a lot more capable of managing my mental health as a result of the work we’ve done together, and the helpful skills, tools, information, and resources I’ve been equipped with (including audio recordings of our hypnotherapy sessions to listen to again). Celia is very friendly, non-judgemental, and understanding, and she’s an excellent therapist that I would highly recommend to anyone struggling with similar mental health issues. The student discount is also a really helpful bonus! The strategies I was given have helped me to deal with the frustrations I feel at times. Celia is very supportive and kind; I would highly recommend her.”

“Celia was very welcoming and able to put my daughter (age 12) at ease from the very start of the process. She took the time to listen and understand why we had sought her help and explained fully what the sessions would involve and how many we would need. It was easy for both my daughter and myself to understand what Celia would do and what we needed to do, taking away any nervousness my daughter had and making the sessions enjoyable. We have come away with great positivity and the skills to resolve what we sought help for, a beneficial and happy experience, thank you Celia!”

Success Stories

"I arrived to Celia with not much hope from previous experience. After a few sessions I started to take on Celia’s advice into my life. By the end of our sessions I came a long way and have definitely improved. I used to spend all my time sleeping in my room. Now I get up in the morning and have my breakfast. I go out with my friends when they ask and I’m eating meals with my family again. I’ve even set up my own dog walking business and earning some money and talking to people I don’t know. I truly recommend hypnotherapy and of course, Celia herself."

“Celia was amazing in helping me to find ways to manage my anxiety and emetophobia, I learnt so many new things and it really helped to know the science and reasons behind why these things happen, I am now in a better place than I was. I couldn’t even go out with my parents for a walk before and now I’m going out with my friends now to all new places. I’m so pleased I’m not being at home on my own watching YouTube all the time anymore I’ve stopped worrying all the time and feel like a totally different person now. The best thing is you can listen back to the recordings of the hypnosis whenever you feel the need to! Try hypnotherapy if you haven’t already. It’s helped me so much more than all the other things I tried.”

“Everything is easier for me now. I’m not stressed and anxious before I go to school and I’m doing much better at school now. I don’t worry that I’m being judged all the time like I used to. When I get asked a question at school I can answer ok and I don’t worry all the time anymore. This has really helped me to feel happier. The strategies I was given have helped me to deal with the frustrations I feel at times. Celia is very supportive and kind; I would highly recommend her.”
